CogShift has no account, no analytics and no advertising, and it sends nothing to its developer. This page describes what the apps and this website do with data.
Who is responsible
CogShift is offered by Damian Obajtek, Poland. Contact: kontakt@cogshift.app.
The apps
- Bluetooth. CogShift scans for Zwift Click controllers and connects to them to read button presses and battery level. Other Bluetooth devices are ignored. Nothing about them leaves your device.
- Local network. CogShift announces itself on your local network (Bonjour / mDNS) so that MyWhoosh can find it, and sends MyWhoosh the button presses and the battery level over that network. This traffic stays inside your network.
- Settings. The Click mode, your preferences, a random identifier for this installation and, on Android, when your free trial started are stored on your device. The identifier lets MyWhoosh recognise CogShift on the network; it is not sent to the developer.
- Logs. The log is kept on your device and is only shared if you copy it yourself, for example into a bug report. It can contain local IP addresses and Bluetooth device identifiers, so review it before posting.
- Update check (macOS and Windows). Desktop versions that offer updates ask GitHub once, when they start, for the number of the latest release. GitHub receives your IP address and the CogShift version, as with any web request. See GitHub's privacy statement.
This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or trackers. Like any website, the service that hosts it can log technical data such as your IP address and browser type. The downloads are served by GitHub.
App stores and purchases
When you get CogShift from the App Store, Google Play or the Microsoft Store, the store processes the download, the free trial and the one-time purchase under its own privacy policy. The app asks the store on your device which products your account owns; CogShift receives no payment details and no other personal data from the store.
Bug reports
Bug reports are public issues on GitHub. Whatever you write or attach there is visible to everyone and handled under GitHub's terms.
Changes
If CogShift starts to handle data differently, this page changes first and shows the new date.
